In 2010, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Melbourne established a program to improve the accessibility of the University's web presence.
The program employs students with hearing, visual, cognitive and mobility impairments, who help identify existing problems and evaluate new projects.
Increased user involvement is now inspiring project managers, marketers, researchers, senior management and the users themselves.
The benefits and challenges associated with conducting user testing with disabled users will be discussed, together with the Top 10 Accessibility Excuses and the Accessibility Human Factors that inhibit change.
The presentation will include several video clips from our user testing sessions.
