Website Evaluation Methodologies - Tips and Tricks from Beginner to Expert

Based on experience, the presenters will provide a discussion on the latest evaluation methodologies and tools for evaluating the accessibility and also the WCAG 2.0 compliance of websites. The presenters are currently involved in academic research involving a comparison of the various automated tools available and comparing the output to expert manual evaluations. The various combinations of evaluation methodologies will be provided in a format that will promote discussion and allow users to select a methodology that best suits their requirements. Dr. Justin Brown has been teaching web programming and conducting research into web information systems for the past 10 years at Edith Cowan University. Vivienne Conway is a PhD student in Information Technology at Edith Cowan University and is involved in website accessibility evaluation in Australia. She is also a member of the W3C Evaluation Methodology Task Force.
